Introduction and Tech Tip: Embedded YouTube

Hi everyone my name is Nick Jules and I am a super senior. I really like calling it that because it sounds more fun than saying a 5th year and it makes me feel like I am super. Anyways I am majoring in creative media production. (ooo so fancy) not really it just means that i get to play with cameras. I really love creative media production because it lets me tell stories. I am not the best writer so by being able to share stories with a camera is something that i really enjoy. I was born in New Jersey but when I was nine mounts old I moved to Texas(so no i do not have a new jersey accent). I spent the time until I came to OU in Texas so pretty much my entire life has been spent in Texas and I love it there. I plan to move back in December when I graduate.

I am kind of a big nerd. I spend most of my time in front of my computer. Whether it be editing video or playing computer games that's where you can find me. If I am not at my computer I am most likely eating somewhere. I love food. like I really love food. I like eating it, cooking it, and trying new things whit it. I think my love of food comes from my father and grandfather. from a very young age they tough me how to cook and showed me that food is more than just something to eat, its an experience. Along with teaching me to love food they also taught me to be a New England Patriots fan. I know i said that I grew up in Texas but my family is from Boston. I also really like batman. He is defiantly my favorite superhero. Some other fun facts about me are i use to be an RA. I was a summer camp councler at sky ranch. I have a younger sister who just turned 21 and and little brother who was born on September 11 2001, yes that day that everything happened. If you have any questions about me or want to get to know me more feel free to hit up my comment wall.

  1. What's up bro, Its Michael as you can see and I am posting on your intro (I'm writing my step by step intro to make my word count go higher haha). First thing's first, that first pic is funny and dope and I laughed cause the first thought that came to my head was I wonder if he tripped. I'm bad i know. Stay up my dude.

  2. Come on Nick, embrace the super senior title! I am right there with you! Our fifth year will be our best year, duh!
As far as your favorite superhero goes, I am 100% on team batman! I used to be really torn between spiderman and batman, but over the last few years I have realize batman is by far the greatest!

  4. Nick,

I have to address the picture because it was the first thing to grab my attention. That's really one of your first day of school pictures? Haha, that's awesome! Huge shout out to whoever took that picture because it's definitely one for the books! Your major, creative media production, actually sounds pretty cool to me. Also, high five on the computer games. I used to play computer games so often my siblings and I would get in so many arguments because we each had a certain amount of time we could be on the computer. Honestly, every once in a while I still play!

Oh, and food is really, really, really great! :)

    Nice to meet you!

  5. What a fabulous picture for the start of school, Nick! So adorable!!! And it's great that you do video production. Editing video is a serious business I know. Editing writing takes times... but editing video REALLY takes time, since it is about so many different elements that you have to be aware of and think about. I hope this class will be a fun way for you to explore different storytelling styles with words and images, finding your voice as a storyteller... or maybe reaching back to the voice of that storyteller from the first day of school, leaping off that bus with all the energy in the world! Wonderful!

  6. Hi Nick, it's nice to meet you! The Patriots are my AFC team!! Vikings are my NFC :) Being a super senior sounds fun haha! Great first day picture btw. On the superhero part, I'm still torn between batman and superman, hence, I'm gonna have a hard time choosing sides in the new movie! Anyway, it was great to meet you!

  7. Congrats on being so close to graduating! Being able to tell stories in a visual way is no less a valuable skill than the use of words. Sometimes it can even be more valuable (images are often more easily remembered than lines of words, for instance) when trying to drive points home. The school picture is amazing and I think it's great your family was able to capture it! Very iconic.

  8. Nick,

What a great picture! I must admit it made me laugh but I think it was a great opening for your introduction. I loved getting to you know better. You seem to be a very interesting person! I am sure that your major and work requires a lot of patience and I admire that. I can only be on a computer so long without my head exploding and I completely lose my patience afterwards. I also agree that a picture tells a story worth a million words ( I know that is so cliche to say) but it is true. Anyways, Congratulations on almost being done!

  9. Hey Nick! That first picture was so cool and I can't believe that someone caught that moment! I love football as well, but I am more of a college football fan, rather than a NFL football fan! Your major is really cool and I am a little jealous that you know how to tell stories with film that well! I am a big nerd as well, although I nerd out on books rather than games.

  10. Dude love the introduction. I am a super super senior! I am also a creative media (video production) major. It is really cool to see that you are doing what you love. I discovered through working with cameras that I love working with them, but I enjoy acting for camera even more. So, I started taking classes here in town outside the university. We seem to have the same "do what we like persona." I like it!

  11. Hey Nick!
You seem like a pretty chill guy. I see from your pictures your a Pats fan! I am currently watching the game against Denver with 1 minute left down by 3. I might be a little nervous. I think your pictures are the best part of this post especially the one of you jumping off the school bus is perfect! Happy Graduation month!
